Swan rescued after crash landing and getting trapped in thorny brush

A swan was rescued after a crash landing left it trapped behind fencing and deep brambles near Ellwood Lakes in the Red Hill area. Responders Louis and Gabe were called after a public report, and a Wildlife Aid YouTube video showed Louis rushing into the thorny brush as the bird backed deeper into the overgrowth. Louis said the swan appeared unable to take off and needed “a little bit of a runway.” The swan was pulled free despite minor bleeding, and returned to water near the pond. The incident highlighted how human-made obstacles and dense growth can quickly endanger large birds, especially if they panic.
