Trump demolition of Kennedy Center fears raised in new court filing

A new court filing has raised concerns about President Donald Trump’s effort regarding the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts after a photo appeared to show him reading a placard referencing the center’s demolition. The image was submitted to Judge Christopher Cooper by Rep. Joyce Beatty, an Ohio Democrat who is litigating Trump’s push to attach his name to the venue. Beatty’s filing also cited a warning Trump made Wednesday that the building could be “ripped down” unless his renovation role is recognized. The U.S. Department of Justice later said Beatty’s request for an emergency hearing should be denied.
