Trump Loses Another Appeal to Get His Name Back on the Kennedy Center
Trump Loses Another Appeal to Get His Name Back on the Kennedy Center underscores a federal court’s insistence that the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts remains named for President Kennedy. A three-judge panel rejected Donald Trump’s latest effort to reverse an order issued more than a month earlier requiring his name to be removed from the building. The court said a stay would not prevent claimed “irreparable” harms because the removal already occurred. Trump’s team argued fundraising would be harmed, but the judges noted that the “raised or committed” donation argument was never presented in district court. Judge Christopher Cooper previously ordered “Trump” removed from official messaging by end of day after the D.C. appeals court denied an administrative stay on June 12. The lawsuit was filed by Rep. Joyce Beatty.
