Uzbekistan taps South Korean expertise for AI Data Hub

Uzbekistan is exploring cooperation with South Korea on AI data infrastructure after a Sept. 18 meeting in Tashkent about its planned AI Data Hub. The country’s Ministry of Digital Technologies said talks took place between Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Jamol Makhsudov, IT Park Uzbekistan Executive Director Jahongir Rajabov and representatives from South Korea’s National Information Society Agency (NIA). The discussions covered e-government, data infrastructure and digital transformation of public services, with particular focus on building and preparing datasets to train AI models. Both sides agreed to continue exploring cooperation, including NIA’s experience in data platforms and dataset preparation, and to review the scope of NIA’s expert support during implementation.
