Walmart re-announces recall on 165K dressers - because more were sold

Walmart has reissued a recall for about 165,000 dressers after discovering additional units were distributed following the first announcement. The recall targets Mainstays 9-drawer fabric dressers that are considered unstable if they’re not anchored to a wall, creating a risk of injury or death if the furniture tips over or traps someone. Walmart says no injuries have been reported. The affected model is listed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission as about 165,250 units (with roughly 165,000 covered in the earlier recall). The dressers were reportedly manufactured from September 2023 to December 2025 and have a black metal frame with nine brown or black fabric drawers.
