Washington Huskies, Washington State Cougars Change 2027 Apple Cup Date

The Apple Cup between the Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars has been moved again, with the 119th matchup scheduled for Aug. 28, 2027 at Gesa Field in Pullman, Washington. Announced Monday, it will be the third time in four years the game has shifted. After moving from a late-season Pac-12 date to accommodate Washington’s switch to the Big Ten, it moved from Nov. 25, 2023 to a Week 3 game on Sept. 16, 2024, then to Sept. 20, 2025 for the 117th edition, and the 118th opened the season on Sept. 6. Washington won 24-10. The series home-and-away deal runs through 2028, making 2027 the second-to-last under the current contract. The change mirrors concerns about disrupted rivalry schedules in college sports.
