Yankees add Royals reliever with 3.55 ERA this season

The New York Yankees added bullpen depth as they look toward the playoffs, claiming former Kansas City Royals reliever John Schreiber off waivers Monday, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Manager Aaron Boone will look to use Schreiber as a right-handed option. In 55 games in 2026, Schreiber has a 3.65 ERA and a 36/22 K/BB ratio. He has not allowed a run in his last three outings, and he has surrendered two or more runs only twice in his past 16 appearances.
