York residents asked to help boost park and playground accessibility

York residents are being invited to shape park and playground access as the City of York Council launches a survey targeting children and young people with disabilities, their parents, and carers. The goal is to ensure play spaces meet diverse needs, with an initial £750,000 investment and total funding expected to reach about £925,000. Nineteen sites have been identified for upgrades, including Hull Road Park, Chesney Fields, and Crombie Avenue, with improvements ranging from new play equipment to better surfacing, seating, and accessible routes. The responses will guide design decisions and funding allocation, with the survey open until 30 June.
