Alleged Folk Nation Gang Members Indicted In New York
Alleged Folk Nation gang members indicted in New York centers on a late-week indictment of 22 alleged Folk Nation gang members announced by Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch. The 176-page indictment alleges the group was involved in 26 shootings across Brooklyn and Manhattan, including one that ended in a death. Prosecutors also cite charges including conspiracy to commit murder and weapons possession, and state the group was connected to 33 criminal acts citywide. In the shootings, one victim died and there were 12 non-fatal incidents, for 23 total shooting victims. Hochul said she has invested more than $3 billion in law enforcement and public safety, while Tisch credited NYPD efforts in dismantling gangs and removing guns. The indictment describes subsets linked to Renegade Goons and OOs and alleged conflicts with Blood and some Crips subsets.
