American Express Announces New Centurion Lounge Additions And Expansions At Four Airports
American Express is expanding its Centurion Lounges and adding new locations, with all changes planned by 2028. The program includes the largest Centurion Lounge to date, scheduled for Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in 2027, spanning more than 30,000 square feet across two floors—nearly double an originally planned 18,000 square feet. Two new and expanded lounges will open at London Heathrow (LHR) in 2028 and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), where the existing lounge will grow from 6,000 to 12,000 square feet and close starting October 16, 2026. Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) will also nearly triple from 8,000 to more than 23,000 square feet by 2028. The renovations will add more food and drink options, additional themed bars, and new “Blue Roast” offerings.
