Big White gears up for busy summer season, new trails open Canada Day
Big White gears up for busy summer season, new trails open Canada Day as the resort prepares for peak operations with mountain biking, new routes and World Cup match-day programming. Resort leaders say the bike park crew has started strongly after a lighter-than-usual spring snowpack, which meant less time moving snow and more time building trails. A few new trails are expected to be ready by late summer, while existing runs are being upgraded ahead of the bike park’s opening on July 1. The resort will run a five-day week beginning next Wednesday to include Canada Day, when it plans free cupcakes. During summer, events include the Craft and Country Beer Festival on July 18, Dog Days in late August, and BC Cup downhill racing. With higher gas prices, the resort expects more regional visitors. Big White will also host a World Cup fan zone activation at The Woods on every game day.
