City of Chester and community partners to host Back-to-School Bash
Chester, partnering with the Delaware County Health Department and multiple community organizations, will host a free Back-to-School Bash to help families start the school year ready to learn. The event runs Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delaware County Health Department Wellness Center, 151 W. Fifth St., Chester. Planned offerings include free backpacks and school supplies, school physicals and immunizations for students in grades K-12 (with registration required), community resources, free food and entertainment, plus giveaways, raffles, and family-friendly activities. The program is backed by partners including Nemours Children’s Health, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Family Village and state Sen. John Kane. More than a dozen additional organizations are expected to attend.
