Clarkesville delays animal control agreement, prepares for millage vote - Now Georgia
Clarkesville City Council in Georgia is shifting its timeline for local decisions after an Oct. 27 work session. The council plans next week to consider a full rollback of the city’s millage rate, with a public hearing and a vote at the same meeting, and no additional hearings required. The next council meeting was moved to Tuesday, Nov. 3, to allow the required public hearing after an error in a prior advertisement listed the wrong date; state rules require at least a week’s notice. The council also discussed a yearly radio maintenance agreement with Habersham County for use of the Northeast Georgia Regional Radio Network, as the county recently upgraded the system. Action on that agreement was not confirmed. Animal control services were delayed so Police Chief Danny Clouatre can finalize details with City Manager Jason Streetman.
