Days of Reform in St Helens - what has actually changed?

Reform UK took control of St Helens Council after local elections on May 7, winning 34 of 48 contested seats and ending Labour’s previous majority. George Woodward was formally appointed council leader on May 20, telling the chamber that “change is coming.” After 102 days, the article says only some of the administration’s changes have appeared: new policies on HMOs, community grants and flags, and the council withdrawing support for Pride and Refugee Week. A political assistant role was also created. However, much of the largest spending programme had already been approved by Labour, and Reform suffered a by-election defeat in Billinge and Seneley Green after a Reform councillor resigned.
