Forgotten' school dinners from the '70s and '80s - how many can YOU remember?

England’s government says major changes to school meals are set to begin in September 2027, with 15 new rules aimed at improving children’s diets amid rising childhood obesity rates. The package would end some long-running canteen staples, including a ban on fried food and limits on sugar in cereals, as well as restrictions on how many desserts can be served per week. The announcement reignited nostalgia for retro lunch dishes, many of which fell out of favor after Jamie Oliver’s 2005 “School Dinners” campaign. Among the remembered items are concrete cake with pink custard, school fairy cakes, Turkey Twizzlers and Turkey Dinosaurs, Cowboy Pie, cheese flan, and Pasta King.
