Free public transport 'will make the city liveable', says Tauranga candidate
A Tauranga candidate from the Opportunity Party says free public transport would help make the city “liveable,” arguing it would make getting around easier while supporting more productive and efficient daily life. Speaking as part of her campaign pitch, she frames her run as a move toward long-term decisions benefiting future generations, criticizing what she describes as anti-environmental attitudes and what she calls frequent back-and-forth between parties. She says she wants to tackle congestion and house prices while also focusing on environmental priorities. Her stated motivation is solving complex problems, drawing on her experience in architecture, where she has worked on award-winning projects, including a medical centre in Christchurch.
