Kansas City Chiefs' Andy Reid Had to Tell Key Player To Leave Meeting

The Kansas City Chiefs head into Week 7 undefeated, but a reported clash involving left tackle Josh Simmons added off-field tension this week. Simmons, 23, was the 32nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and started all eight of his rookie appearances. He has been sidelined in 2026 with a bulging disc in his back and was shut down from practice while attempting to ramp up for a return. He was placed on injured reserve, set to miss at least the next four weeks. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes asked Simmons to leave a team meeting Wednesday, a day before the IR move.
