Little Rock has received a $30 million award from the Bezos Earth Fund through its Greening America’s Cities program, selected as one of eight U.S. cities for the initiative. The grant will jump-start construction of 30 Crossing Park, a 20-plus-acre destination green space designed to reconnect downtown with the Arkansas River. The Earth Fund’s funding targets turning underused urban land into public green space. Little Rock’s city approved its first comprehensive downtown master plan in 2024 after months of public engagement, aiming to address a lack of population density. The full park project is estimated at $93 million to $128 million, with the grant intended to unlock an additional $60 million to $70 million.
