A gunman fired at the U.S. consulate in Toronto on Monday, marking the second time this year the building was shot at, authorities said. Police reported no injuries, but they found a shell casing at the scene and damage to the consulate’s facade. The consulate said the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Canada remained open and operating normally, though some routine services in Toronto were rescheduled. Toronto Deputy Police Chief Frank Barredo said there was a high-speed chase lasting about an hour, but no arrest was made. This attack follows a March 10 incident; two suspects, Sheldon Tracy-Stewart, 18, and Zara Jabbi, 19, were later arrested and charged.
