Harvey Weinstein Will Be Sentenced in New York Sex Crime Case

Prosecutors are seeking a 20-year sentence for Harvey Weinstein, 74, as he faces final sentencing in New York for a felony sex crime stemming from a 2006 incident involving former production assistant Miriam Haley in his SoHo apartment. The Manhattan district attorney’s office asked for 20 years, closing another chapter in a case that has unfolded across two states. Weinstein was convicted in New York last year, but an earlier conviction was overturned on appeal, prompting a retrial. In a separate California case, he has also been resentenced after an appellate ruling. Prosecutors ended efforts on a remaining New York charge earlier this year. Meanwhile, a separate Manhattan lawsuit filed by Kellye Croft accuses James L. Dolan and Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
