Honolulu To Baltimore: Southwest Unveils First 4 Airport Lounges, At Least 11 Planned

Southwest Airlines will open its first four airport lounges, adding Baltimore/Washington (BWI) to the three initial locations. The company says all announced lounges are expected to launch in the second half of 2027, starting with a first phase that Southwest describes as the beginning of “a broader footprint across the Southwest system,” with at least seven additional lounges planned in the following years. Locations for 2027 include Austin (AUS), Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Honolulu (HNL), and Nashville (BNA). Southwest says the lounge concept will blend its hospitality style with a more sophisticated design, and it is tying the effort to Rapid Rewards and its 30-year partnership with Chase.
