Josh Grisetti, Broadway star and 'Mrs. Maisel' actor, dies by suicide at 44
Josh Grisetti, the Broadway star known for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” has died by suicide at 44, according to announcements by colleagues and confirmation from his agent. The news was shared late Sunday on Instagram by former co-stars Rob McClure and Sierra Boggess, and Rick Ferrari confirmed it Monday to Entertainment Weekly. McClure, who played Grisetti’s brother in “Something Rotten!” on Broadway and on tour, said he was devastated and that Grisetti’s wife, Mackenzie Grisetti, and their family are in his thoughts. Boggess said the loss is “heartbreaking.” Grisetti also taught acting and musical theater as a tenured associate professor at the University of California, Fullerton, where he led the undergraduate musical theater program. Two days before his death, he left “Legally Blonde” at the Trentino Music Festival in Fiera di Primiero, Italy, citing personal reasons.
