Live Updates: 2026 midterm campaigns make final push before Election Day as early voters hit the polls

President Donald Trump is making final campaign stops ahead of Election Day in the 2026 midterm race, including a trip to Ohio to back GOP Sen. Jon Husted and Republican governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, after a blitz that included rallies in Texas and Mississippi. In Alaska, Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski backed Democratic nominee Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, saying Alaska needs leaders who put the state first and criticizing the current GOP Gov. Mike Dunleavy administration for leaving “federal money on the table.” Murkowski’s endorsement comes as Alaska uses ranked-choice voting and Kreiss-Tomkins faces three Republican challengers. In Texas, Trump held two rallies for Attorney General Ken Paxton and House candidates, while emphasizing his economic messaging and criticizing Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico, whom CBS News calls a toss-up.
