Live updates: America celebrates it's 250th birthday | CNN
America’s 250th birthday celebration in Washington, DC, is set to feature a major, television-centered air spectacle with more than 30 military flyovers. The daylong air show is scheduled to start just after 1 p.m. ET with a NASA Northrop F-5 jet and then continue approximately every 10 to 20 minutes over about nine hours. The US Navy Blue Angels and the US Air Force Thunderbirds are both confirmed as top flight demonstration teams, while the US Marine Corps and Coast Guard will also participate. President Donald Trump’s new Air Force One plane, received as a $400 million gift from the Qatari government, will fly over the city just after 7 p.m. The US Army Golden Knights will conduct a twilight jump, followed by a more than two-hour pause before Trump’s address at the National Mall, with a final B-1 flyover after the speech and what organizers say will be the world’s biggest fireworks show.
