Louis CITY extend unbeaten run with Vancouver upset | MLSSoccer.com
St. Louis CITY SC extended its unbeaten run to 13 matches with a 3-1 road win over Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The match came a week after the Missouri club spent $12 million on a cash-for-player trade with the Colorado Rapids to acquire striker Rafael Navarro. Navarro and fellow new signing Damion Downs made their debuts off the bench, while Simon Becher—scoring against his former team—Tomas Totland and Conrad Wallem scored Vancouver to give CITY the win. The result lifted St. Louis into fifth in the West, tied on points with FC Dallas, in the Audi MLS Cup Playoff seed race. Head coach Yoann Damet said the team is focused on moving forward. CITY will aim for its first trophy since joining MLS in 2023, including the US Open Cup semifinals against the Rapids on Sept. 16.
