Man City star Phil Foden warns rivals he is rediscovering PFA Player of the Year form after England World Cup snub

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden says he’s rediscovering his Premier Footballers’ Association Player of the Year form after a difficult run that cost him a place in the 2026 World Cup squad. The 26-year-old returned from an early-season suspension and has since produced a string of goals. He scored his first Premier League goal of the campaign against Ipswich Town, following a domestic red card in the Manchester derby. Foden then added a spectacular hat-trick and an assist in a 5-1 Champions League win over AEK Athens. He said the enforced break “did me good” and wants an England recall soon, though he hasn’t spoken to Thomas Tuchel since his omission. City face RB Leipzig in Europe on Wednesday.
