Men's coach Pochettino agrees new contract through 2030 World Cup

United States Soccer said on Monday that head coach Mauricio Pochettino has agreed to a new contract that keeps him leading the men’s national team through the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The 54-year-old Argentine guided the U.S. to the round of 16 at the most recent finals and had been under a deal running through the 2026 World Cup. US Soccer CEO JT Batson said the new project is designed to build on USMNT progress and the momentum gained after the campaign. Under Pochettino, the U.S. finished first in its group ahead of Australia, Paraguay and Türkiye, collected a record six points, beat Bosnia, and then lost 4-1 to Belgium.
