Mexico-England World Cup watch party moves from San Pedro Square
A Mexico-England World Cup watch party in San Jose is being moved to larger venues for Sunday’s match, after San Pedro Square drew tens of thousands of fans for earlier games. City officials said the increased turnout is expected to require SAP Center and Discovery Meadow to comfortably accommodate supporters and families. Discovery Meadow will broadcast both Mexico-England and Brazil-Norway, while SAP Center will show Mexico-England only. Although the official watch parties shift locations, bars and restaurants in San Pedro Square will remain open on Sunday. Tickets are required, with online ticket sales beginning Friday at 10 a.m. for both venues. Official watch parties return to San Pedro Square on Monday for Team USA’s Round of 16 match versus Belgium.
