New video shows trio of headlamp-wearing 'mole people' emerge from NYC manhole near Penn Station

A new video posted to TikTok shows three men wearing headlamps and overalls climbing out of a manhole near Penn Station in Manhattan. Police confirmed the clip was filmed just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday at 32nd Street and Seventh Avenue, only blocks from the commuter hub and Madison Square Garden. The footage follows two earlier, similar sightings reported around Williamsburg and Gravesend that prompted an NYPD investigation. Authorities say an NYPD emergency services and the city’s Department of Environmental Protection investigation found the incidents appear to involve people scavenging for items that ended up in the sewer system. No infrastructure damage was found, and no arrests have been made. Officials warn entering manholes is illegal and extremely dangerous.
