After fumbling through reply on Milan talks, Mauricio Pochettino reiterates USMNT commitment
Pochettino reaffirmed his commitment to the U.S. men’s national team amid lingering questions about whether he met AC Milan regarding its vacant head coaching job. He initially denied meeting Milan, then suggested discussions could have occurred through his representatives, noting that such conversations are routine when coaches are nearing contract conclusions. The Athletic had reported Milan’s interest ahead of World Cup camp. The U.S. Soccer contract runs through July after the World Cup, and Pochettino stressed that his focus remains on the current assignment and the national team’s objectives, framing club interest as a normal aspect of football’s global market. He added that conversations between representatives and clubs are common and should not be interpreted as imminent departures.
