The Comeback Kings of D-II do it again as Middletown walks off a winner
The comeback kings of D-II pull off another dramatic win as Middletown walks off Narragansett 2-1. Narragansett ace Zayden Kent was perfect through 4 1/3 innings, leaving Middletown to mount a late rally. Cameron Carlisle opened the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff double, and an error tied the game before Noah Travers delivered a game-winning single to right, scoring Colton Kerrison from second. Kent, who will pitch at the University of Rhode Island next spring, was dominant until Kenny Pirches singled to end the no-hitter, after which Kent recorded back-to-back strikeouts. In the sixth, Middletown mounted a minor threat when Keefe reached on a single and a nearby misplay allowed a runner to reach; a strong throw from right field ended the inning. Travers described the moment as the biggest hit of his life, while Agren lauded the team's energy in the final frame. Head coach Eric Godin credited the team's approach and late-inning execution for keeping the Islanders' season alive.
