Baseball: Montgomery to play for program's 1st section crown after 9-8 comeback victory

Montgomery High School's baseball team faced a 7-0 hole after the first three innings but staged a dramatic rally to beat St. Patrick-St. Vincent 9-8 in the North Coast Section Division 5 semifinals, advancing to its first section title game since 2005. The comeback culminated with a walk-off triple by Joel Silva in the bottom of the ninth. Montgomery, now 17-10-1, will meet Sonoma Valley (15-12) for the NCS Division 5 crown at Cardinal Newman, with first pitch at 1 p.m. The game also featured 10 errors, seven by Montgomery, used by St. Patrick-St. Vincent to build an early lead.
