Police on Thursday identified the student who died after being pulled from a pool at High Meadow in Granby, Connecticut, on Wednesday: 14-year-old Emari Marshall-Woodard. Marshall-Woodard was an eighth-grade student from Springfield, Massachusetts. Granby police said they received a report of a drowning around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and a Simsbury officer working a private detail at the venue helped with the response.
