Russia's ruling pro-Putin party wins wartime election with over 57% of vote, near complete results show

Russia’s ruling United Russia party has won a parliamentary election with 57.83% of the vote, according to the Central Election Commission, after more than 95% of votes were counted. The election is widely seen by President Vladimir Putin as a test of support for the war in Ukraine. With near-complete results, the party would secure 355 seats in Russia’s 450-seat State Duma, preserving its constitutional majority. That share marks a rise from the 49.8% United Russia won in 2021, the last State Duma election before Monday’s vote.
