Flint-area high school football starts Thursday with 29 matchups featuring local teams, with most games slated for 7 p.m. The Thursday card includes 21 contests, highlighted by Lapeer hosting Holly at Michigan Stadium in the “Battle at the Big House.” Friday brings eight matchups, including Frankenmuth vs. Goodrich at Michigan Stadium as well as three local schools in the Vehicle City Gridiron Classic at Atwood Stadium. Flint Jaguars open the classic against Detroit East English, followed by Flint Elite vs. Monroe Jefferson at 4 p.m., and Davison vs. Roseville as the nightcap. All three classic games are part of the Aug. 28 schedule.
