Selfie-seekers bring Man Utd vs Leeds match to premature end

Manchester United’s friendly against Leeds United in Dublin ended prematurely after five young boys breached security and ran onto the pitch to take selfies with Bruno Fernandes. The match finished 1-1, with United winning 5-4 on penalties, but the incidents cut the game short during Fernandes’ highlight moment. Fernandes, introduced in the 60th minute, received a standing ovation, hit the bar, had a goal disallowed, missed a penalty in the shoot-out, and still lifted the trophy. The crowd of 82,000 marked the highest attended soccer match in Ireland, at the Aviva Stadium. The report also noted United’s early attacking tempo, including a 15th-minute goal involving Bryan Mbeumo and Joshua Zirkzee.
