Steven McBee Jr. Says Dad Will Be Released in 'Less Than 2 Months,' Prison Time Has Been 'Cut Down'
Steven McBee Jr. said his father, Steven “Steve” McBee Sr., will be released in less than two months after serving a reduced prison sentence tied to crop insurance fraud. Speaking to Us Weekly on Thursday, July 16, the 33-year-old son said his 54-year-old father secured placement in a program that cuts time served. He said Steve will leave FPC Yankton in Yankton after serving under a year and then enter home confinement for four to six months. The case stems from a guilty plea in November 2024 to one count of crop insurance fraud, after which Steve disclosed sales of more than 1.2 million bushels of corn and nearly 416,000 bushels of soybeans in 2018. In October 2025, he received 24 months in prison plus two years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $4,022,124 in restitution, alongside $3 million in fines referenced in a Bravo series episode. A self-surrender date was set for December 1, 2025, and the prison transfer is expected to air on July 20.
