The door is certainly not closed!' - Jurgen Klopp reveals why he snubbed Nick Woltemade for Niclas Fullkrug
Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp has explained why he recalled Bundesliga top scorer Niclas Füllkrug while leaving out Juventus loanee Nick Woltemade for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches. Klopp has trimmed his squad to 24 players for fixtures against Serbia and the Netherlands. Füllkrug returns after scoring nine goals in eight games on loan from West Ham United and leading the Bundesliga charts. Klopp said Füllkrug offers clinical finishing and leadership, as Werder Bremen’s forward influences matches beyond goals. Woltemade’s omission is temporary, with Klopp insisting the Newcastle-to-Juventus loanee remains in long-term plans. The squad meets at adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach on Monday before traveling to Belgrade to face Serbia on Friday, 13 November.
