Thriston Lawrence rallies from 6 behind and beats Paul Casey in a playoff in Switzerland

Thriston Lawrence of South Africa won the European Masters in Crans-sur-Sierre, Switzerland, rallying from a six-shot deficit and denying Paul Casey his first title in five years. Lawrence shot an 8-under 62 on Sunday and converted an 18-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole. Casey had led at the start of the day but fell behind as Lawrence surged. After Casey regained the lead with a 15-foot birdie on the 15th and saved par on the par-3 16th, both players finished regulation tied at 18-under 262. Casey missed on the first two playoff extra holes before Lawrence closed on the fourth. Harry Hall finished third.
