Trump congratulates Democrats, says they 'did a good job'

In a Fox News interview, President Donald Trump congratulated Democrats while saying he will work with them, adding that they “did a good job” and “fought hard.” He declined to take accountability for the results from the night’s elections and said Democrats want to work with him. Asked about his candidate picks, Trump defended endorsing Sen. John Cornyn’s replacement, Sen. Darline Graham in South Carolina and Texas’s Ken Paxton, calling his choice regarding Paxton unavoidable after Cornyn criticized him. In Iowa, Democrat Josh Turek, projected to win the Senate race against Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson, promised to protect the “American Dream.” In Alaska, candidate Mary Peltola told supporters the race “feels so good” while warning all votes would take weeks. ABC News also indicated Democrat Dr. Abdul El-Sayed would win his Senate election, potentially becoming the first Muslim U.S. senator.
