With less than eight weeks until Election Day, the Dallas gathering for the GOP’s midterm convention is becoming a test of those decisions. Republicans are trying to defend Cornyn’s seat against state Rep. James Talarico, and pursue five newly redrawn House districts that may not all go their way. Texas remains central to Democrats’ Senate hopes, with MAGA Inc. reportedly spending $10 million on the race.
