Crew members of the USS Abraham Lincoln began arriving in Pattaya, Thailand, on Thursday by bus for a port call after a lengthy Middle East deployment. The carrier is operating in support of the U.S. war against Iran, and its deployment included a record-setting uninterrupted stretch at sea of more than 260 days. The ship has been deployed for 286 days in total, according to the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, with 264 days uninterrupted before arriving in Chonburi province on Wednesday. The Navy played down concerns raised last month about deteriorating mental health among the crew and shortages of key food supplies. The Lincoln is expected to depart Thailand this weekend.
