Wimbledon champion Noskova takes low-key approach into US Open

Linda Noskova says her Wimbledon success won’t change how she approaches the US Open. The 21-year-old Czech, seeded sixth, arrived in New York after winning her first Grand Slam at the All England Club, where she saved five match points before beating Karolina Muchova in the final. Noskova told reporters on Friday she keeps a “new” mental state for every match, treating each one as if nothing has happened. She is still adjusting to life as a champion but believes more titles are possible. In the top half of the US Open draw, she opens against American Katie Volynets, with defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and third seed Jessica Pegula also present.
