Would you move to Wisconsin? This city wants to give you $9,500 to do so
A lakeside city in Wisconsin is trying to attract new residents by offering relocation incentives of up to $9,500. Fond du Lac, home to about 44,000 people on the southern shore of Lake Winnebago, launched the MakeMyMove talent attraction initiative to address workforce shortages and pull in younger workers and families. Eligible newcomers can receive a $5,500 cash relocation stipend plus local experiences and memberships worth roughly $4,000. The package includes memberships to the Fond du Lac Family YMCA, golf benefits, VIP access to arts and cultural attractions, baseball experiences with the FDL Dock Spiders, library passes, and dining-related perks. Applicants must be at least 18, live outside Wisconsin, and have a household income of at least $55,000. They must move their primary residence to Fond du Lac County and stay at least one year, and workers must secure full-time jobs.
