Air Defense Forces shoot down 96 of 105 Russian drones
Ukraine reported that its air defense forces shot down 96 of 105 Russian drones used in attacks launched late Saturday. According to Ukrinform, quoting the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram, the strike began at 6:00 p.m. on June 20 with two Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from the Voronezh region and two Kinzhal-type air-launched ballistic missiles from over the Ryazan region, alongside 105 Shahed-type combat drones. The drone package included jet-powered models and loitering munitions such as Gerbera and Italmas, Banderol, and decoy drones, launched from locations in Russia and from temporarily occupied areas in Crimea including Kacha and Chauda. By 9:00 a.m. on June 21, preliminary data indicated 96 drones were shot down or jammed across northern, southern, eastern, and central regions, while missile and six UAV strikes were recorded at six sites. Ukrainian authorities also reported two deaths and 14 injuries in the Poltava region. The Air Force said some drones remained in the air and the attack was ongoing.
