Airlines Drop 17 Airbus A380 Nonstop Routes This Winter: See Full List Now
Eight airlines users are cutting Airbus A380 flying this winter by withdrawing the superjumbo from 17 nonstop routes compared with the winter 2025/26 schedule, according to Cirium data cited in the report. The cuts reflect how demand swings and route suitability matter for an aircraft that can only serve certain markets efficiently—especially as geopolitical tensions and airspace closures in the Middle East disrupt where the A380 typically performs best. British Airways accounts for three of the 17 cuts from London Heathrow, including the Dubai (DXB) route, and also reductions to Los Angeles (LAX) and Washington Dulles (IAD), driven by a company-wide A380 fleet refurbishment program. Emirates is also removing the A380 from three Dubai routes—Jeddah, Medina, and Washington—while Etihad cuts one route.
