Boeing Lost Another $280 Million Last Quarter On Overdue Air Force One

Boeing is taking another financial hit on the U.S. Air Force One program, with Aviation Week reporting a likely loss of $280 million in the last quarter tied to delays. Since the government contract was signed in 2018, the publication estimates Boeing has lost about $2.8 billion on the program so far. Under the fixed-price deal, Boeing—not the U.S. government—absorbs most cost overruns. Boeing said the current quarter’s $280 million overrun comes from “additional production and certification resources” as it targets a 2028 delivery. Boeing executives also expect continued cost growth through final assembly and wiring and certification work.
