Boeing wins potential $156.2 million Navy contract for P-8A engine build-up kits

Boeing has been awarded a potential $156.2 million U.S. Navy contract for engine build-up and Quick Engine Change kits to address spare-engine shortages affecting P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and C-40A Clipper transport aircraft. The firm-fixed-price, economic-price-adjustment contract is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award providing up to 31 P-8A engine build-up kits—18 for Navy use and 13 for Foreign Military Sales customers—and up to two Quick Engine Change kits for the C-40A. According to the Department of Defense, the P-8A kits include components to integrate CFM56-7B27AE core engines, while the C-40A kits support integration of CFM56-7B24E cores.
