British Airways pilot raped girl, 12, he had groomed over Instagram

British Airways pilot Kwame Yeboah was jailed for more than eight years after abusing a 12-year-old girl he groomed through social media. The court heard the 30-year-old, a former England youth basketball international, met the victim via video chatroom Omegle and then used Instagram to exchange explicit messages and calls. Prosecutors said he emotionally blackmailed and manipulated her into meeting in Merseyside, traveling about 200 miles from Reading, Berkshire by car. He checked into a hotel and then raped her twice in his Mercedes. The plea involved three counts of rape of a child under 13 and one of assault by penetration. Sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court to eight years and four months, he also received an additional year on licence. British Airways sacked him after being informed of the crimes.
