Dad dies after being restrained on flight to Manchester
A death on a Jet2 flight to Manchester has been linked to a restraint incident after the passenger reportedly became violently disruptive. Callum Kerr, 35 and from Warrington, died after being restrained on a five-hour flight from Larnaca, Cyprus, on June 21. Greater Manchester Police boarded the aircraft after it landed at around 2:25am on Monday and found Kerr unresponsive, with CPR attempted and a defibrillator requested before he was taken to hospital. Reports described heavy drinking before boarding and an argument with his girlfriend, leading cabin crew to move her to another seat. Witnesses alleged Kerr headbutted another passenger, paced the aisle, shouted and threatened others, and was held down by several travellers while police took over after landing. Police confirmed they are supporting an independent inquiry into the death.
